As a Hospital Housekeeper/Janitor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of our facility. You will be responsible for performing daily cleaning tasks for patient and resident rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, clinic areas, and any other areas assigned to you. Your work will be essential in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily cleaning tasks following the standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with facility and hospital standards.
Clean and disinfect patient and resident rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, and clinic areas.
Execute and operate the Xenex disinfection machine or similar type equipment to ensure thorough disinfection and sterilization.
Handle and dispose of waste, including medical waste, in compliance with safety regulations.
Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue in restrooms and other designated areas.
Monitor and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a high level of cleanliness in all areas.
Collaborate with the Environmental Services team to ensure efficient and effective cleaning schedules.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services preferred.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment used in healthcare settings.
Ability to operate disinfection equipment like the Xenex machine or similar.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
Knowledge of infection control practices and safety regulations is a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Requirements:
Must be available to work all weekends.
Must be able to complete pre-employment physical, health screenings, background check, drug screening and fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
